America loves Christmas-time, and since we are a melting pot, we celebrate the holidays in many different ways. This joyous revue by Teresa and Paul Jennings, captures the spirit of the holiday in a way that will make it a wondrous experience for students and family members alike. It explores America's celebration of Christmas from the settlers till today, from traditional carols to rock and rap. And it looks at how various groups in our cultural mix celebrate with their own traditions. The revue features eight carefully arranged unison/2-part songs including: "An All-American Christmas;" "Roots" (an energetic rock/rap song); "Over The River;" "Sing The Christmas Story" (a medley of Christmas favorites); "We Gather Together;" "Babe Of Bethlehem;" "Children, Go Where I Send Thee;" and "Yankee Doodle Santa" (the "pull out all the stops" finale). Afterwards, performers and audience are invited to join together in a rousing rendition of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas." The story is scripted so that it can be performed as either a secular or a more sacred presentation, and it's ideal as an all-school production for schools of any size. From classical to folk, to Broadway and rock, whether you are working with a whole school or just one class, here is a program that will let you perform quality traditional music as well as contemporary songs that even hard-to-reach students will enjoy. It's bursting with star-spangled music and fun. Don't miss it!
